Music: ウエンツ瑛士 | | Awaking Emotion 8/5

Firstly; お誕生日おめでとうございます小山さん!

Now, to what this post is about. At this moment in time, I basically flat out refuse to talk about my life. Things are happening that I do not wish to talk about, so please don’t try to get it out of me. If I want to tell you, I will. If I don’t, I won’t. This is probably going to be something I won’t talk about until it’s sorted out. Just give me some time okay? I’ll be willing to talk about it sooner or later.

Since I’m not talking about my life at all in this post, this post is going to be about music! This’ll basically be my opinions on things I’ve listened to throughout the month and if I’d recommend them or not. This is going to get quite long so my opinions will be on the following:

水樹奈々 - SECRET AMBITION
タッキー&翼 - ×~ダメ~ / Crazy Rainbow
小池徹平/ウエンツ瑛士 - my brand new way / Awaking Emotion 8/5
アンジェラ・アキ - Home
KAT-TUN - cartoon KAT-TUN II You

I will talk about every song if it’s a single, I will not talk about every song if it’s an album.

Edit:: Because Kimi is getting me into chinese music, I want to say that Arron is Fahrenheit’s answer to Tego. aighesighesoiges he’s so cuuuuuute. <333

水樹奈々 - SECRET AMBITION

01. SECRET AMBITION
02. Heart-shaped chant
03. Level Hi!
04. SECRET AMBITION(without nana)
05. Heart-shaped chant(without nana)
06. Level Hi!(without nana)

Mizuki Nana’s newest single! It ranked as #2 on the Oricon weekly single charts for the week it was released. SECRET AMBITION is an overall impressive title track, I’ve liked it since I first heard it. It’s a good follow up to innocent starter and ETERNAL BLAZE. In all, it’s a nice opening track. I like how the song is sung, and how the instruments flow together.

I’m not a huge fan of Heart-shaped chant. It’s not that great in my opinion. It takes almost 30 seconds to pick up in beat and even when it does it’s not that impressive. It’s tolerable, but it’s not my favourite song on the single.

Level Hi! is without a doubt my favourite song on this single. It starts out with a happy and upbeat rock beat and keeps it throughout the song. With all the “la la la” parts it gets me to sing along.

Overall, this single is really good. And is worth looking into if you like pop/rock music. But don’t listen to this and expect all of her songs to sound like this or for this to be the best thing she’s released. For a better idea of her music, I’d suggest looking into HYBRID UNIVERSE.

タッキー&翼 - ×~ダメ~ / Crazy Rainbow

01. ×~ダメ~
02. Crazy Rainbow
03. 運命
04. EDGE
05. ×~ダメ~ (TACKEY PART VERSION)
06. ×~ダメ~ (TSUBASA PART VERSION)
07. Crazy Rainbow (TACKEY PART VERSION)
08. Crazy Rainbow (TSUBASA PART VERSION)

x~dame~ is so addicting, it’s my second favourite song off the single. Just–squee! You all knew that ever since I heard this song in january I was hoping that it would be their next single. x~dame~ is dancy to say the least. I like it a lot and it finds itself on repeat quite a bit.

Crazy Rainbow isn’t a bad song, but it’s not the best song on the single either. I don’t know about you, but when I first heard this song I was like “Whoa now! The only one that should mention the words ‘rainbow’ and ’star’ in the same sentence is Tsuyo, and the last time I checked neither one of you two were Tsuyo.”

I didn’t like Sadame at first, and even now it’s not a selling point for me. It’s not a weak solo or anything, it’s just not my type of song. Takki sings well, so it’s not him that makes me dislike the song. It’s the music to it. I can’t put my finger on it, but I don’t like it.

EDGE. OMG. This is my favourite song on the single. Tsubasa’s engrish is just awesome. Completely awesome. And have you seen this song preformed live? This song is almost as awesome as Slave Of Love. Almost. I love the beat, I love how he sings it, I love the engrish, and I love this song.

This single isn’t bad, but it isn’t the best single they’ve ever released. I’d suggest it if you like pop and pop/rock music.

小池徹平/ウエンツ瑛士 - my brand new way / Awaking Emotion 8/5

01. my brand new way
02. Awaking Emotion 8/5
03. my brand new way (Instrumental)
04. Awaking Emotion 8/5 (Instrumental)
05. ゲゲゲの鬼太郎

I’m going to go out of order on this but whatever, this is basically the single in which I offer my love to Eiji. Am I the only one that noticed that he was wearing black eyeliner in the Awaking Emotion 8/5 pv? Or for that matter thought it was totally hot? I’ve yet to figure out if Eiji is hot or cute. Or both. So far I’ve gotten to the point where it’s like “Teppei is cute in that “d’aww he’s so cute” sort of way. Eiji is cute in that attractive sort of way.” LAFF I’M GOING TO BE PREOCCUPIED WITH EIJI FANGIRLING FOR A WHILE SO LOVE TEPPEI EXTRA FOR ME ‘KAY?

As for the song itself, it obviously owns my face off. Why else would it be on repeat for hours? It’s love. ♥ And to randomly note something stupid that no one cares about, Eiji is going to be performing this song on the next episode of MStation. I HAVE TO WATCH IT!

my brand new way is basically the “d’awww” song on this single. I love songs like this, there’s piano and strings and acoustic guitar and Teppei’s cute voice and agfiohsgise. While I don’t like this song as much as Awaking Emotion 8/5 it’s a really cute song that deserves lots of love.

Gegege no Kitaro is just OMG SPY SONG. It makes me giggle like you wouldn’t believe, and it’s really catchy too!

Overall, this is a single worth buying. I’d highly suggest it to everyone! EVERYONE. JUST LISTEN TO THIS OMG.

アンジェラ・アキ - Home

01. Kiss Me Good-Bye
02. Love Is Over Now
03. 心の戦士
04. MUSIC
05. This Love
06. お願い
07. 宇宙
08. Rain
09. 奇跡
10. 大袈裟に「愛してる」
11. ハレルヤ
12. HOME
13. Your Love Song

Overall, this album is a must listen to if you like piano. Angela Aki’s voice is simply beautiful, and every song on this album is very pretty and has a ton of replay value. My favourite songs on this album are MUSIC, HOME, and Your Love Song, and there were no songs I didn’t like. This album really has no flaws, each song is composed very well and her voice is always powerful. She never loses her voice even hitting higher notes. Angela Aki is a very impressive artist and I’d highly reccomend her.

KAT-TUN - cartoon KAT-TUN II You

01. SIGNAL
02. Peak
03. Splash…
04. 僕らの街で
05. Make U Wet
06. key of life
07. LOST
08. Jumpin’ up
09. サムライ☆ラブ☆アタック
10. FREEDOM
11. someday for somebody
12. Movin’ on
13. うたいつづけるとき
14. YOU
15. フリーズ
16. LOVE or LIKE
17. FIGHT ALL NIGHT
18. HEARTBREAK CLUB
19. MY ANGEL, YOU ARE ANGEL
20. ノーマター・マター
21. Peacefuldays

I said I disliked KAT-TUN’s music, but I never said I hated it to the point where I’d never give them a chance ever again. I listened to this more or less because I just randomly felt like it, I wasn’t expecting anything out of it but in the end I’m not impressed.

I’ve tried on two separate occasions to get through this album in one sitting, and both times I failed and had to listen to something else. The only songs with any replay value for me are SIGNAL, Bokura no Machi de, key of life, LOST, Jumpin’ up, サムライ☆ラブ☆アタック, YOU, and フリーズ. Even with no expectations I didn’t think it would be this bad.

Bokura no Machi de doesn’t sound like a KAT-TUN song, but they did a good job with it. I’ve always liked SIGNAL, so it’s not a big surprise it has replay value to me. key of life’s cd version was weak. And when I say weak, I mean it’s better off live. It’s a nice song but it sounded better with the beatbox intro, the beat sounds awkward on cd, I freaking hate the background singers, and it just overall sounded better when it was performed on Shokura.

LOST is just awesome. I love the guitar intro and Ueda and the synthesized english parts and Ueda and sgihesioges. Jumpin’ up is catchy, that’s basically the only thing it has going for it. I was kinda disappointed that seishin wasn’t going to be on this album, but Samurai*Love*Attack made up for it. It’s catchy and pop-rockish(it reminds me of HAPPY MUSIC) and Junno’s voice is so cute and this song is catchy and I sing along and squee~

YOU was overdue for a cd release, and Bakanishi! I’ve loved this song since I saw Sapuri so I’m happy that this song was finally released on cd. As for freeze, it’s basically in the same boat as Jumpin’ Up. It’s catchy, has a good beat, and I like how it’s sung.

Overall, this album has a few good songs, but in full it’s not a great album and it doesn’t have much replay value to me. If you like KAT-TUN you’ll probably like this album, if not it’s basically dependent on if you like this type of music or not.

That’s basically my thoughts on those cds. I think out of all the cds I’ve heard that were released this month, SECRET AMBITION and my brand new way / Awaking Emotion 8/5 were the best.

I still haven’t downloaded KAT-TUN’s new album. I don’t really know if I want to though.

But now that Jin’s back, I don’t mind checking them out! I feel like a lot was missing without him. :(

Anyway, I think I’m going to check out T&T’s new single, and Mizuki Nana since you seem to really like her. XD
